Summer Pops Of Citrus Wedding in the Meadows With a Show-Stopping Seating Chart

This couple sparked my inspiration from the moment they showed me their wedding palette – think pretty peaches, vibrant oranges, and pops of pink. It was the perfect palette for a fun, vibrant, citrus-inspired soiree. The venue was filled with natural greenery, and we thought it would be a nice touch to bring in this fun color palette to let nature be our blank canvas.

I knew I wanted to have some fun with this summery vibe and create a unique design that is whimsical and playful to match how easygoing our couple truly was during the entire planning process. I teamed up with Mandy’s Garden Floral Design, and she shared her idea of incorporating summer citruses into the reception centerpieces. We were all for it—this wedding needed a citrus twist! We added fresh citrus fruits to our stationery design and floral centerpieces and even filled their seating chart backdrop with oranges, grapefruits, and lemons.

[field title=”Proposal Story”]

Proposal shared in Wendy’s words: I was aware of Anthony’s intention to propose, but he still managed to catch me completely off guard and surprise me. On a random Sunday, Anthony mentioned that he really wanted to go out on a walk because the weather was nice. He also said he wanted to go to the Costco in Foster City since it’s frequented by a food vlogger we watch. I suggested that after Costco, we could walk around the waterfront park nearby. He responded that it was a good idea, and I was proud of myself for suggesting it. Little did I know, that was his plan all along! After Costco, we went to the park and walked along the waterfront area, where he got down on his knee and proposed.

[field title=”Wedding Gown”]

SAINT Bridal Couture was purchased from Lovely Bride SF. Wendy loved this gown because of its romantic appeal. It’s a classic A-line silhouette with a unique lace pattern that adds a special touch. She also loves that it has poofy sleeves and an overskirt for extra drama and a slight transformation between the ceremony and reception.

Plated dinner entrees included a butter lettuce salad and guests’ choice of salmon with sauce vierge, herb-crusted tri-tip, or roasted hen of the woods mushrooms. For their signature drinks, the couple wanted to incorporate their last names into their cocktail names and came up with Yu-Zu Mule and Strawberry Tang-ria. The groom’s last name was Yu, and the bride’s last name was Tang!

Guests were greeted by a soft, pastel orange welcome sign adorned with fresh citruses and a vibrant ground arrangement. The ceremony aisle was filled with lush arrangements, leading to a beautiful oval floral arch overflowing with blooms and greenery. We repurposed the arch as our sweetheart table backdrop, and the aisle florals adorned other parts of the reception space. The bar menu featured a playful rattan design and showcased their signature drink of choice. Guest tables were a vision of elegance and whimsical: peach chargers, sage green linen napkins, acrylic table numbers in a soft peach hue, a mix of pillar and twisted taper candles, and an array of bud vases and floral centerpieces.

[field title=”Wedding Cake”]

Pastry Atelier PQ made a beautiful strawberry-flavored two-tier cake with a floral painted design in the shades of pink, peach, orange, and sage to match our palette.

Our seating chart was a showstopper! JK Designs crafted a beautiful shelf overflowing with fresh citrus and flowers by Mandy. A clear acrylic overlay displayed guest names and table numbers, creating a stunning and interactive display. Guests couldn’t resist snapping photos!

[field title=”Special Detail #2″]We turned the end of the night into a delightful farmer’s market experience! Guests filled brown paper bags with our leftover citrus fruits, taking home a fresh, vibrant piece of the celebration. We made this easy for them to take at the end of the night and it was a hit![/field]
