Coastal Elegance at this Rosemary Beach Wedding

Bailey grew up visiting Rosemary Beach for vacations for much of her life and always thought a wedding there would be beautiful and perfectly her style. When she and Parker started dating, Rosemary was the first place they’d vacationed together and Parker was able to see exactly why it was so special to her and her family. They chose to lean into a color scheme that reflected the natural beauty and architecture in Rosemary: various shades of green, tan, cream, taupe, mocha, and chocolate.

The Myrtie Blue team perfectly executed Bailey’s vision of an elevated, comfortable living room. Under the beautiful sailcloth tent, they arranged furniture-filled seating areas, a central four-sided bar, and a large dance floor. Pin lighting and taupe taper candles in clear glass cylinders achieved the warm glow the couple was seeking. They selected natural-toned linen, bone velvet, and textured floral fabrics to be placed alongside natural wood chairs, which were complimented by the burnished gold of the overhead light fixtures and flower vases.

[field title=”Proposal Story”]

Parker and Bailey met in Nashville, TN in August of 2017. They attended a community service day for first-year students after their first week of law school. Parker slid into Bailey’s DMs as soon as they got home from the service event; their first date was two days later. They were immediately inseparable, and after graduating in May of 2020, they moved to New York City to begin their new jobs. Although they both have demanding work schedules, it was never difficult to make time for each other – especially for events they could bring their sweet rescue dog, Nova, to! After about five years together, Parker asked Bailey’s parents for their blessing to propose during a trip to their hometown. They were overjoyed and couldn’t wait to celebrate Parker and Bailey’s love. Knowing how much Bailey dislikes public spectacles and how nervous she would be if she thought a proposal might be coming, Parker proposed to Bailey at home first thing in the morning, just one month later.

Like any bride-to-be, Bailey’s Instagram was full of targeted posts of gorgeous gowns. When she scrolled upon a video of the off-the-shoulder fit-and-flare Eva Lendel Jess gown, she had a feeling it would be a contender. Bailey and Parker were living in New York City at the time, and Bailey’s parents flew up for a weekend of dress shopping and good meals. She booked an appointment at the Wona flagship store in Flatiron, and the Jess dress was the first she had tried on. After trying on a handful more, she went back to the Jess gown and canceled her remaining appointments for the day. It was simple, structured, timeless, and flattering, and just what she was looking for. She opted to add buttons down the length of the dress and an overskirt with a cathedral-length train. Despite having a first look with Parker on the wedding day, the overskirt was a surprise to him as Bailey made her way down the aisle with her Dad. Her ceremony look was completed with a cathedral-length veil she had the honor of sharing with her cousins on their respective wedding days, and, as a nod to her late maternal grandmother, Bailey wore a pair of pointy-toed heels and wrapped her grandmother’s pearl necklace, a wedding gift from her maternal grandfather, as a bracelet on her wrist.

Bailey’s new sisters-in-law accompanied her on a shopping trip to pick out the designer, fabric and color of their bridesmaid dresses. They chose Amsale’s satin in the color mocha as a perfect fall neutral. From there, and to be sure that each bridesmaid felt beautiful in her outfit, each picked her own style of dress.

Parker worked with the phenomenal team at Roosevelt & Co. to design a custom Heritage Gold suit. His linen pocket square was a day-of gift from Bailey embroidered with the word “always,” and he completed his look with chocolate suede loafers. The groomsmen wore complimentary navy suits with ties in various shades of blue and brown, which were also selected from Roosevelt & Co. and given by the groom as a gift.

[field title=”Food & Drink”]

The bride and groom had the privilege of attending a tasting with the Townsend Catering team as part of their wedding planning process and knew they could not go wrong with any of the endless options. For cocktail hour, the bar opened up in full swing, and guests enjoyed passed appetizers of pork gyoza with citrus soy, fried chicken and waffle cones with hot honey & sriracha aioli, petit lollipop lamb chops with rosemary and mint, mini shrimp and grits with bacon, roasted corn, asiago and chives and fried oyster spoons with cajun aioli. The couple selected a pineapple ginger mocktail and an old-fashioned bar as their signature drinks, which were a hit among the guests. As a daily iced vanilla latte drinker, Bailey was elated to have Coastal Coffee Co. serving all the custom coffee classics for the guests throughout the reception. For dinner, guests had filet mignon with port wine and shiitake mushroom sauce, fingerling potatoes and asparagus, panko-crusted grouper fingers with fries and chicken piccata lemon caper butter sauce, pappardelle pasta with pesto cream sauce and sundried tomatoes and Caprese salad with a balsamic drizzle. As the food was served at stations, guests were able to choose any and all of the offerings. In selecting the food for the evening, Bailey and Parker selected dishes that were inspired by her family’s south Mississippi seafood-loving and Parker’s New Jersey pasta-loving roots.

[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

The florals of the day were some of Bailey’s favorites, artfully assembled by the Myrtie Blue team. They included anemones, butterfly ranunculus, lisianthus, and orchids with delicate accents of spray roses and greenery, arranged naturally and “spilling” out of their vases and bouquets. Magnolia leaves were an homage to Bailey’s parents’ Mississippi roots, and the orchids in her bouquet were styled after her grandmother’s bridal bouquet.

[field title=”Wedding Cake”]

The bride and groom had the best time tasting cakes with the Sweetly Sisters team and couldn’t pick just one of the delicious flavors. They chose to vary the cake flavors by layer, including vanilla almond (Parker’s favorite), pink champagne, and lemon with mixed berry filling. The cake was decorated with fresh flowers. To round out the dessert options, the Townsend Catering team served salted caramel brownies and chocolate chip cookies late in the evening.

[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]The couple’s love for the movie The Holiday inspired Bailey’s bridal processional of ‘Iris’ Melody’ and their first dance song ‘You Send Me’. The couple’s selection of the band Compozitionz was one of the best decisions of their planning process. They provided the perfect atmosphere for the evening and kept everyone out on the dancefloor, foam hats, glow sticks and all! [/field]

The couple worked with Loly Orozco from the Little Postage House on their custom save the dates, wedding invitations, and day of needs. “From the moment that I first connected with Bailey and Parker, I knew that Rosemary Beach held a special place in their hearts and that we needed to create an invitation suite that not only represented our couple but also encapsulated the charm and beauty of that destination”, Loly Orozco says. Drawing inspiration from the destination – a beautiful beach town nestled on the Northwestern Coast of Florida with dreamy cobblestone streets and remarkably beautiful oak trees iconic to the town -Loly used a neutral and natural color scheme throughout the suite and incorporated illustrations of oak trees and seagulls in blind press to add texture to the design. The envelope liner featured a hand-drawn sketch of Rosemary Beach, FL – Town Hall and St. Augustine Green, the ceremony location. As one of the nation’s leading postage curators, Loly used her expertise and vast postage collection to curate a vintage postage collection that represented this fun and loving couple. For this couple, we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to use the Yoda stamp to represent our groom, who is a big Star Wars fan. The American Bar Association stamp represents where they met in law school. The dog stamp represents their love for their adorable rescue dog, Nova, and the other stamps were selected to represent where they’re from and where they met.

“The Day Of Items should be an extension of the invitation suite that is used to carry the event branding and color scheme through the entire wedding weekend,” Loly Orozco says. From signage to cocktail napkins, frosted cups, and koozies for various events, Loly worked with the couple on all of their needs and created designs that complemented the invitation suite. One of the most special and unique items that the Little Postage House team worked on was custom welcome doggie boxes. Each box included an assortment of dog-friendly treats that were custom designed and baked for the wedding by a local dog bakery.

[field title=”Special Detail #3″]The couple wanted their guests to fall in love with Rosemary Beach just like they had and decided to add a couple more casual events to show all aspects of RB. They chose to kick off the weekend with a bonfire welcome party on the beach, spent their rehearsal dinner at a local restaurant, Paradis, and invited everyone to a farewell brunch catered by 30A favorite Black Bear Bread Co. as a send off. Guests spent downtime biking, shopping, eating, catching up and enjoying all that RB has to offer.

Bailey’s favorite candles, Byredo’s Tree House, burned in Town Hall during the ceremony.

Bailey’s late grandfather played college football for the LSU Tigers and gave her a love for football. She chose to wear a perfume titled Tiger By Her Side to honor him.

The couple chose to have a surprise dance to honor their parents at the reception. They danced to ‘Wonderful Tonight’ by Eric Clapton.[/field]
