Wild Garden Wedding at San Ysidro Ranch Lush With Thousands of Flowers

From Imagine… Our design was a romantic European Old World Royal garden feel with an abundance of flowers in a warm summery palette of peaches and pinks with an accent of green textures. The Casa de Perrin floral plates were selected to convey a feeling that the flowers were growing from the tables in the garden for dinner. An ethereal canopy of twinkle lights enveloped the garden to create an intimate fairytale ambiance. Star-shaped pendants suspended from the arbor over the bridal table and bar were included to present a dreamlike ambiance. One of my goals was to create an evening where all the senses were heightened by the beauty of the setting, the melodies of the string orchestra, the taste of the culinary cuisine, the smell of the fragrant flowers, and the touch of loved ones hugging and sharing in the joy of Alex and Patrick’s marriage. I really wanted to blend the two worlds of the new age couple with the more traditional aspects of their parents to create an evening of enchantment for everyone.

Guests enjoyed an al fresco dinner under the stars—the real ones in the Santa Barbara sky and the canopy of twinkle lights and hanging star lanterns. Two signature drinks were served at cocktail hour, a Blood Orange Margarita and a Blackberry Collins. Dinner was a three-course menu featuring the best of coastal California cuisine with the choice of a seafood starter then SYR’s famous tortilla soup or a burrata salad followed by a choice of halibut, chicken or strip loin.

The entire wedding was an overflowing vision of a fairytale garden with an abundance of flowers rooted in the earth. The ceremony featured a giant floral structure dripping in a sherbet of roses in pinks, creams, and coral tones. The aisle was lined with a wild garden of flowers that looked as if they’d magically sprung up from the ground leading their way to the ceremony structure. The wild garden continued into the cocktail hour with floral tablecloths and a large central bar also adorned with large floral statement pieces. The unique arched cocktail sign had flowers growing from it, echoing the ceremony, and guests even got to take flowers home with them via the beautiful escort card vases. The reception featured an abundance of flowers in all shapes and sizes and layers upon layers of beautiful floral plates and a sea of twinkling candles. The party carried on into the evening in the Stone House under a canopy of hanging greenery and roses to really set the scene of a magical enchanted space to dance the night away within.
