Guests Were Transported To The Gilded Era At This Opulent Newport Wedding

Ashlie, from Infinite Events, tells us all about the vision. Christiana came to me with a very distinct vision, one that is extremely coveted as a planner in a world full of white and champagne client color palettes. As a lover of Bridgerton and Marie Antoinette aesthetics, she longed for muted pastels with a heavy emphasis on lavender hues. With a sprinkle of ivory and a dash of French blue, we brought a specific softness to Rosecliff’s ornate and magnificent space.

Ashlie from Infinite Events says, “The overall goal was to transport Christiana and Stephen’s guests back in time, to a grand Gilded Age dinner party bustling with memorable details. Some were more subtle than others, envision a romantic rose garden of escort cards surrounding the terrace water fountain followed by a magnificent performance of dancers dressed in Gatsby gowns. An opulent vision brought to life and one of the most memorable parties that has ever graced Rosecliff Mansion‘s ballroom.”

[field title=”Proposal Story”]During our planned week-long vacation in Dubrovnik, Croatia, he surprised me on the very first day by proposing on bended knee at King’s Landing (for all the Game of Thrones fans out there!). He presented me with my great grandmother’s ring, making it the perfect start to our trip.[/field]

I tried on about 90 gowns before instantly selecting this silk Champagne stunner from Monique Lhuillier. It has the perfect amount of drama and I loved the rose appliqués which nodded to our venue, Rosecliff. I also opted for a second look by Danielle Frankel. The tuxedo pants signaled to guests that it was party time.

We fully embraced the French theme for all our food and drinks. Rosecliff Mansion, modeled after the Petit Trianon at Versailles, served as our inspiration, paying homage to its rich history, which also happens to be my favorite cuisine. Among the highlights were the tuna tartare cornets, served as passed appetizers, and dinner service began with torn baguette and fresh butter. Another delightful feature was our Poof-Tini, elegantly presented in a French coup glass, accompanied by white cotton candy and Prosecco, a nod to our beloved mini American Eskimos.

We really wanted a romantic and whimsical feel for all the flowers. The ceremony featured my favorite color purple and white roses, and they came together perfectly framing our circular ceremony stage. I didn’t want them to obstruct the beautiful ocean view. We went with an oceanic mermaid-themed cocktail hour which featured organic purple “seaweed” adorning the bars. Our poofs also made an appearance as floral topiaries. Escort cards were roses that guests were able to pluck from a bush! Which was a delightful interactive element enjoyed by all. The reception space was adorned with an abundance of creams and light lavender roses, creating a soft and enchanting atmosphere.

A little note about your wedding cake- let them eat cake! Completely inspired by Sofia Coppola’s film Marie Antoinette. Ornate and decadent. It was the centerpiece of an incredible dessert display.

[field title=”Special Detail #1″]Our incredible Marie Antoinette inspired dancers performed to Taylor Swift’s Love Story and our live mermaid at cocktail hour! Two unforgettable highlights. I also loved all of our musicians- from the ceremony/ cocktail hour string quartet and lively reception band.[/field]
