Zoë & Brody dreamed of getting married in Cabo after getting engaged there. They hired Palms Weddings & Events to help them bring their destination wedding vision to life. They wanted to touch on spring in Cabo, keeping the vibe bright and colorful yet still soft and romantic for their intimate wedding. Flora Farms, tucked away in the lush fields in San Jose del Cabo, was the perfect location for their intimate wedding.

From the Bride: We had many conversations about when to get engaged, especially nearing the end of med school for Brody and after Zoë had moved in since graduating PA school. Brody had made the not-so-mysterious decision to tell Zoë that they would be engaged in late summer to fall of 2021. Luckily, she forgot about that and actually thought Brody had said much later. When we originally planned a trip to Maui towards the end of the summer, she had no idea. The photographer was booked, dinner reservations were made, and a plan was set. However, COVID forced a change in plans just weeks before our trip. Hawaii would’ve been wonderful, but Cabo was absolutely perfect. Brody found the Marquis Los Cabos which practically did all the work for him. Zoë had seen one of her friends’ photoshoots in Cabo and wanted to do something similar if we could. Little did she know, a photoshoot ending with a proposal at the beach had already been arranged for the evening of our third day in Cabo. Zoë survived the first two days of all-day sun relaxing by the pool, and Brody appreciated the mellow atmosphere to calm his anxiety. The third evening arrived, and everything had gone perfectly. Zoë looked absolutely stunning in her “I hope it doesn’t look too wedding-like” dress, and we met the photographer after some tequila at the hotel bar. Soon, we reached the beach, and the photographer asked Zoë to turn around while Brody got on one knee. Zoë was completely surprised by the timing of the proposal. Brody forgot his speech in awe of the moment, and the ring was on her finger before the question was formally asked. We celebrated with a champagne dinner at the penthouse suite overlooking the beach and ocean. We would say it was the best food of the trip, but on our final day, we visited Flora Farms and fell in love with absolutely everything. We toured it as our first potential venue, and nothing matched it after.

Zoë purchased her Anne Barge dress from Love Couture Bridal in Potomac, Maryland. The dress was the iconic “Dream Weaver, “a strapless, V-notched bodice with a full ballgown skirt of floral embossed jacquard.

Zoë knew she wanted a color for her bridesmaid’s dresses that complimented her pink and peach florals, yet something that still added a flare. She opted for a steel blue chiffon dress with a fitted bodice from SHow Me Your Mumu. The pop of steel blue against the florals created the perfect hues for spring in San Jose del Cabo.

With Zoë and Brody wanting an intimate wedding, a key factor in ensuring this experience for themselves and their guests was a family-style seasonal field-to-table dinner. Flora Farms focuses on serving handmade food with fresh ingredients, like their fresh vegetables from their fields roasted to perfection with a lemon vinaigrette, creamy garlic mashed potatoes, their coal-roasted chicken, and seared catch of the day. They created the perfect menu for an intimate al fresco evening for Zoë & Brody. Their signature drinks encapsulated spring in Cabo with a refreshing “Farms Citrus” margarita for the bride with a grapefruit and orange garnish and signature “Flora’s Old Fashioned” for the groom.

Velvet Floral created the perfect bouquets and centerpieces for Zoë’s vision of soft, feminine, and spring florals amidst the tropical oasis at Flora Farms. The pops of pink, peach, and pale yellow florals made the soft steel blue accents in the bridesmaid’s dresses stand out yet still complement effortlessly.

Zoë & Brody were married by Brody’s twin’s fiancé whom he’s known almost all his life. It was the sweetest touch having someone so near and dear to them marry them.
