Fall woodland wedding: Allison + Raven

Who’s planning a fall wedding ATM? These shots by Ashley Caroline of A + R’s day is sure to inspire. It was quintessentially fall—think woodland décor, plaid blankets, and guests sipping on hot cider during the ceremony (so neat!)—yet they didn’t compromise style or elegance one bit. But you could probably guess that from the bride’s Reem Acra gown + Vilshenko jacket, huh? Allie IS a personal stylist, after all.

We came up with the idea of The Fox and The Raven (a nod to my red hair and his name), and were instantly inspired. We presented this idea to both our planner Melissa McNeeley and our invitation artist Happy Menocal, and they both jumped right on board. Happy created a custom crest with our idea and it became the jumping off point for the rest of the wedding! Our planning process was pretty organic and we relied heavily on the expertise of our wonderful vendors.

Allie originally wanted a long sleeve dress for their late fall wedding, but when she saw the look on her mom’s face after trying on Reem Acra at Kleinfeld Bridal, she was sold. She paired it with glittery Valentino Tango pumps + her sister’s Vilshenko blazer.

Melissa and her team completely transformed the venue’s tent with hundreds of porcelain woodland creatures, a fox and raven topiary, and our tiny neon evergreen trees that served as our escort cards. Since we wanted the guests to feel like they were in the woods, we arranged to have the tent draped with a beautiful pale green fabric as well as grape vine and moss chandeliers. The company we used hung the chandeliers low over the dance floor so the large tent suddenly felt much more intimate.
