Celebration of Love and Life: A 40th birthday party wedding festival in Portugal

Warm. Happy. Hopeful. Free. These are just *some* of the good feels that Claudia + Antonio’s bohemian Portugal wedding will wrap you up in as you scroll. It’s magic. Though it all went down last summer, the images by wedding planner and photog love is my favorite color, along with Videoart‘s sweet film, put us right there in the moment, reveling in a celebration of all the goodness that surrounds us in love and life.

Wondering how this whole festival came to be? A + C were married 10 years ago, but never had a wedding. They decided they’d celebrate down the road—on Claudia’s 40th birthday, to be exact. And a decade later, they made it happen! Friends from around the world flew to Quinta da Penalva, a hidden villa in Sintra, Portugal.

Cristiana of love is my favorite color explains, Claudia and Antonio decided to celebrate LOVE and LIFE at a festival-inspired, legendary party in Portugal last summer. We created a vision based on their thoughts and dreams but the result was far better than what we have envisioned. The atmosphere of the day, the energy of people, the incredible music, the whole vibe… it was all so awesome.

We have designed the event based on the 4 lunar phases so we chose a venue that allowed us to create different atmospheres—and guests would walk from one stage to another—as if the day would unfold (and build up) at each different lunar phase/stage. Music was key so, just like a festival, we had 6 different bands and one rad DJ to make everyone sing and dance all day and night long.

Sigh, such a perfect summer day!

They set up different stations throughout the day, so guests could explore or mingle or dance whenever they wanted… Just like an epic festival.

Music is obvs a very big deal around here.

Oh, did we mention there was a carousel? NBD.

C + A were all about making this day a tribute to their lives, their love, and their community. It was truly about everyone involved and all they have to celebrate!
