Juneteeth. If we’re being honest, and honesty and real effort and work feel like the best policies right now, we didn’t know that Juneteenth was a holiday until a few weeks ago. It’s embarrassing and it shows our ignorance pretty clearly. This is a wildly important holiday. It should be a national holiday. Banks should be closed. People everywhere should be barbecuing and eating watermelon and recognizing this day as a major, positive, historical moment. Every day we are learning how much we didn’t know or that what we thought we knew needs to be relearned. We’re incredibly grateful for this collective moment to grow and be better human beings. And in that spirit, we thought we’d highlight some of our favorite past BIPOC weddings today, while continuing the pledge we made to show weddings and events with far more diversity going forward.
