Summer Wedding with Dried Flowers & Rustic, Natural Elements

Despite getting married in the summer, Catherine and Dicky they decided they wanted a cosy feel to their June wedding with lots of of dried flowers, dark colours and dim lighting. They planned the day in just seven months, and so didn’t go as ‘all out’ on the theme as they said they could have, but to them, their simply styled day was absolutely perfect.

“The one thing I wish I’d realised back in November when we got engaged is that I didn’t need to spend a lot of money or go all out with decorating” Catherine told us. “The décor we had was a wonderful touch but all that matters was that we had a celebration with our friends and family.”

They spent £10,000 in total, and the majority of that went on feeding their 30 guests. They saved a lot on the bride’s dress (bought from Monsoon) and by doing all the decorating themselves, they got most things from Ikea and the bride arranged all the dried flowers herself. “I got a lot of help from my friends and family, everybody helped in various ways and it was lovely to have them be apart of planning and spend time with them. We didn’t have very long to plan but it actually made it easier to make decisions in the end!”

“Don’t stress about little details”, Catherine concluded, “everything comes together wonderfully no matter what you spend. Just enjoy your day and live in the moment, it really does go by so quickly.”
