Metallic Fairy Dreams Micro Wedding

This April wedding was a strong female-led affair with both brides being walked down the aisle by their mothers and the cake and flowers being made by Carleigh’s. She even surprised them by putting pictures of some of their favourite people on the bouquets – those that had either passed away and were unable to attend their special day. “Carleigh’s bouquet had a photo of her dad, and Sara’s bouquet had a photo of her grandmothers who raised her”, they explained.

As they had a micro wedding with only nine guests, they were able to keep things fuss-free and inexpensive. The ceremony was led by Sara’s best friend, who is an ordained minister. Our wedding theme was ‘Metallic Fairy Dreams;”, they continued. “Our main inspiration was Sara’s pink suit which came from ASOS.”

Sara hand-painted Carleigh’s ‘Just Married’ jacket and they used an AirBnB as the location. They were pleased they were able to have their dog with them too, “Unfortunately he broke his leg the day before our wedding (and got it amputated two days after).”

Keeping things so small also meant they could really focus on the most important part, the ceremony. “We walked out to our favourite song with our mothers by our sides. Benches and flowers lined the aisle to the outdoor wedding and the rain had just cleared. The ceremony itself was short and perfect. Filled with love and our incredibly needy dog. We wrote our own vows and Carleigh cried like a baby the entire time reading hers. In the end, love is love and we are thrilled to be able to spend our lives together.”

“The small elopement type wedding is the way to go!” they advised in conclusion. “Always add your family and friends to your party whenever you can, and don’t be afraid to include your favourite things no matter how weird they are!”
