From Bluebird ProductionsEmma & Nish’s Aspen wedding was the perfect reflection of everything that makes them the fabulous couple they are. The couple exchanged vows and danced the night away at Emma’s childhood Aspen home. Looking up at Pyramid Peak, this home is one of the most splendid locales in Aspen and a place so many of Emma’s friends and family had visited over the years. Nish’s heritage filled the space just as equally though; the décor, floral, tent, and attire all were an expression of Nish’s Indian culture.

Guest arrived at their residence and wound their way over the hill to Emma’s backyard. A sitar player filled the glen of trees with music and guests were greeted with chai tea as they wondered through a sanctuary dripping with marigolds to the ceremony site and its jaw dropping backdrop. Emma and Nish’s first child, their adorable dog Harper, was part of the processional along with bridesmaids, who wore a variety of bright burgundy dresses, and groomsmen, who wore jackets tailored in the traditional Indian style.

Guests found their escort cards hanging in the air interspersed between marigold chains and then entered the tent with a custom silk lined ceiling of gold stars and mirrors and cascading gold lanterns. Emma’s custom dress was two pieces, which made it easy for her to switch her chiffon floor length skirt for a playful tulle tea length reception bottom. She and Nish flawlessly executed a choreographed first dance that quickly morphed into a Bollywood dance where all of their bridesmaids and groomsmen ran onto the floor and joined along with all of the steps they had learned to celebrate the couple!

The menu was designed to show a perfect melding of the families’ traditions. There were three buffet stations with aptly paired selections: Indian, Colorado, and Southern (for Emma’s Georgian roots). Being part of their celebration was a true honor. Both families could not have been more kind or supportive of the marriage and the celebration of Emma and Nish’s love and commitment to one another. If there’s one wedding that a planner wants to do over and over again, it’s this one!
