Be True to You: A Pastel Wedding Inspiration Shot in a Flower Shop

This shoot is such a dream, with soft fabrics, gorgeous florals and a real life couple. Sent to us by Ae Events and shot by Flavio Debarros, it got us dreaming of a sweet summertime celebration.

Always tempted by a sweet treat, the pretty pink macarons are the perfect favour for any wedding table, nestling in amongst the soft textured ribbons and tulle. Pheobe from Ae Events told us, “When done right, the deliberate randomness of the design for this celebration is perfection…from the mix of stemware, chairs, floral pops of colour mixed with decadent French macaron, every element has a purpose in the overall design aesthetic and fits our Un-Bride and Un-Groom to a tee!”

With much of the world still shaking off the constraints of pandemic restrictions, this shoot gave the designers a much needed outlet for their creativity. Phoebe explained, “When dreaming up this styled shoot I wanted to create something special and some magic moments when the world of design and creativity was so low. The space we transformed was a small shop but the amount of colour and life we added was beyond special.”

Providing inspiration for a summer wedding or a pastel palette, the shoot placed pretty succulents alongside fresh foliage and flowers and crisp white linens. Cutlery with gold tones added a metallic accent to lift the palette, and goddess body salt and pepper shakers gave a unique touch. Phoebe told us, “Of the many lessons we have taught ourselves and learned over the last several months is that being true to who you are and what you want shines through in anything you produce. Tradition can be reimagined at any moment and in fact what you once thought of as traditional may be the act of gathering to celebrate the love of two human beings for one another while all other elements can bend and mould to be uniquely curated to each couple.”

Offering advice to couples designing and styling their day, Phoebe said, “You can always mix and match, add or take away, design and redesign until you just can’t anymore.  But at some point you have to be proud of what you produced, and I can say that hands down every vendor and each team was beyond proud to be a part of this styled shoot.”
