Plus: an all-new look for the Punisher brings the Winter Soldier out of the woodwork...and can Frank stand up to the alien madness of World War Hulk? COLLECTING: PUNISHER WAR JOURNAL (2006) 1-12, 1 B&W EDITION Punisher War Journal by Matt Fraction: The Complete Collection Vol. 1

I read all 26 issues and am so disappointed. I've really come to expect so much more from Matt fraction. I got no new perspective on the punisher and overall it was just boring. I legitimately fell asleep more than once. Additionally, whenever any side characters came into play we got no introductions for them and unless you are familiar with all of them from other books you have no idea who they are, what their skill sets are, or even if they're good guys or bad guys. I was really hoping for a more rounded portrait of the punisher but instead got two dimensional murders. Graphic Novels, Comics This is a very disjointed collection. It starts off being The Punisher during Civil War and it’s in and out of the main story so you have to know what’s going on there for the first few issues to make any sense. Then there’s a short road trip to the Mexican border and then it ends with an alien invasion from World War Hulk I believe. The art is fine but just really hard to enjoy the story. I don’t see myself rereading this one. Graphic Novels, Comics
